Nestled in the spectacular natural landscape of the Höri peninsula, the old monastery bakery is situated on a gentle hill overlooking Lake Constance and Switzerland. As part of an ancient monastery ensemble, its rooms with thick walls and round arches bring history to life.
We spent two years renovating it to make it a place of power for us and our holiday guests.
It is a place for people who like the essentials: swimming in the turquoise-coloured Lake Constance, hiking or cycling in the rolling hills in the immediate vicinity or skiing on the alpine slopes of eastern Switzerland. Discover picturesque medieval towns and villages. Stop for a bite to eat in the excellent Lake Constance restaurants or buy top-quality fresh fruit and vegetables directly from the farmers.
In the design, we have endeavoured to reflect the asceticism of the monastery in a purist interior that nevertheless does not lack any comfort. The tranquillity of the house is only interrupted by the church bell, yet there is an excellent infrastructure and many sports and play facilities for children in the immediate vicinity.

Elegant materials reduced to the essentials: This large flat impresses with an incomparable atmosphere in its bright 90 square metres. Thick monastery walls and round arches, solid Douglas fir floorboards, elegant ash wood, warm lime plaster, stylish cement tiles, comfortable (box-spring) beds and a beautiful kitchen – everything you need to recharge your batteries in this place, even for families. And as a highlight, the 21 square metre sun terrace with a view of Lake Constance invites you to relax after a dip in the deep, clear waters of Lake Constance.
Flat I and II can be combined with a connecting door on request and booked together.

Our flat on the ground floor (60 square metres) has its own entrance facing the quiet Klosterplatz and impresses with a spacious, beautiful entrance area when you enter through the old monastery door. A stylishly tiled bathroom with washing machine and tumble dryer leads off from this, as does a 35 square metre living room with a kitchen and a spacious dining table at the front. Tucked away in an alcove at the back is a cosy, comfortable 1.80 m wide box-spring bed. Two cosy armchairs and a TV create a wonderful atmosphere between the old monastery walls and round arches.
